A little plugin for y’all

Hi folks, this post is short and sweet, but I thought it might be a good time toΒ officially announce a WordPress plugin which I’d been working on which I unleashed released at the beginning of this month.

Simply put, it’s a conversion widget, allowing you to easily convert different ingredients between grams, cups, millilitres, and ounces. Some of you might have noticed it in my sidebar to the right of this post already. As different ingredients all have different densities, there is no “standard” conversion between volume (such as cups) and weight (such as grams). As such, each one needs to be manually added, and so if any of you have any feedback on ingredients I could add, or other ways I could generally improve the plugin, please do let me know!

You can check out my official “Simple Converter” page hereΒ and you can also find the plugin from the official WordPress plugins repository:

[button link=”http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-convertor/” type=”icon” color=”silver” icon=”notice” newwindow=”yes”] Click here to view the plugin in the WordPress repository[/button]

As always, if you like the plugin, don’t forget to rate it!

What a great plugin Charles! I’m guessing it doesn’t work on free Wordpress hosted sites, correct?

Hi Betsy – you could get it working on the free sites, absolutely, although it would require a bit of manipulation. Let me know if you were interested in setting it up – I could send you instructions!

yeah this is going to come super handy on my blog! I was looking for such a widget after some readers had asked me to covert grams to cups. Of course I have no clue what a cup is, so your widget is just brilliant Charles. Thank you, love it!

It has always been a hassle for me to convert from the Metric system to the US measuring system of ounces/pounds especially while trying out my Mother’s recipes. I’ve come to realize how much it matters to use precise measures while baking cakes or breads-so you’ve saved me a lot of pain with this brilliant Wordpress plugin!! Thanks
